Help i need to install pygtk2 and i get this error,

"'automake 1.6' is needed and you dont seem to have it handy on your system. you might have modified some files without having proper tools for further handling them. check readme it often tells you the requirements for this package. you also peek at any gnu some other package would contain the missing automake 1.6 program."

And thats wat it says ive installed the newest automake and autoconf packages help me please.

as far as the root tail issue..
I use gnome and I have it set to start with gnome. I see it as soon as I log in, but it goes away once the desktop image comes to place. is there any way around that? I read in the readme that I should look for it to allow desktop imaging or something but I couldn't find the option.

floods, you could always disable nautilus from drawing the desktop, that should allow you to see root-tail as it is drawn on the root window.

i tried the line from fartwiz above and i had to modify it in .fluxbox/menu to read:
[exec] (aterm) {aterm -transparent -transpscrollbar -shading 60 -foreground white}

it DOES look really cool :)

Try the development version it's fantastic--makes you forget about GNOME. In fact I removed all traces of GNOME (except GTK of course) ever since I started using fluxbox a long time ago.
