I'd suggest you reconfigure X by running 'xorgconfig' or post your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file here.
Or as it's Debian try: dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg |
gdm/xorg won't start
Hi - I have this same problem, only this is after an upgrade to gdm/xorg under Debian. Gnome was working before, now it only works for root, and crashes to the desktop for other users with no error messages (only warnings). I tried reconfiguring, changing the video settings (Intel 815 EM) and even reverting to previous versions of xserver-xorg with no luck. Here are the versions:
gnome 2.14.3.5 gdm 2.16.4-1 xserver-xorg 7.1.0-11 Xorg.0.log: Code:
X Window System Version 7.1.1 Code:
# /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file) |
