EasyTag displays no files. Slack 12.2 KDE 3.5

Hello.

I was looking for a program that can edit ID3 tags and access CDDB to do so and I found EasyTag.
Problem is that when I choose a folder it shows empty. (mp3 file folder)

I have read/write permissions to that folder and I have id3lib.
any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

The very first option in the "browser" settings is "load the current directory at startup". Make sure that's checked.

You can also force it to rescan the directory at any time by hitting F5 (or using the same reload option in the browser menu).

Thank you for the replay.
That option is checked and refreshing doesn't help.

in the Log section there is a line "Currently using locale '' (and eventually '(null)')"
I think it might be related...

Edit:
I removed the program using pkgtool and installed it from source so now it works fine.
But almost every search I do in CDDB returns no resultes or "The server returned a wrong answer! (HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently)"

I'm starting to think easytag isn't the answer I was looking for.
