"commands not found" errors when installing on Suse 9.0

'Running SuSE 9 pro and there is an issue with installing certain programs, including apache2, ./INSTALL starts but during the install comes up with a bunch of 'commands not found' the same with jdk1.4.2.

Is this an OS issue? did I install wrong? or are there compatibility issues?
are there changes to the script that i need to make?

is it a "root" question?

are you logged in as root when you run the program. When not, one often gets "command not found" messages - just a thought - i don't really know much :)

ur instalation directory must contain all packages...somthg similar happened to me and all i did was download the packages...and reinstall of course
My directory contains exactly 6589 files and 106 folders, in a total of 7.682.091.867 bytes :)
I dont know if thats the problem but try it! Mine isnt suse 9.0 pro...just the not professional one plain suse 9.0! :D

was that with the package version of apache2 that came with suse 9?

Well, is it telling you what command is not found? If it is, check to see if Suse installs that particular piece of software by default.
