Canon I455 Printer Driver Fixed !

:study: :confused::cry::scratch:

Ok..this is s personal printer fix for all the users of printer CANON i455:it's very difficult to make it work in Linux but i fixed it:

1)download and install cups 1.2.12 and gutenprint 5.0.1

2)type in the browser bar http://localhost:631

3)DON'T CHOOSE CANON i455 DRIVER

4)choose instead this driver: Canon BJC-7100 Foomatic/bjc800 and select resolution of 600 dpi

5)after choosing print before printing select at printing options always o,3 inches from each side

6)Now it works perfectly (in my pc with Kubuntu 7.04 ) !

Bye !:p :) :eek:;)

In fedora Canon i455 works much better

Hi..i've tried this printer under Fedora 7 64 bit too and here it was better:it was automatically recognized by Fedora as a canon i455 even if with another driver as i turned it on,i didn't need to install any driver and configure anything and worked even better than in Kubuntu so if you have this printer i highly suggest you to install Fedora 7

Bye !
