cannot execute nm-applet as a normal user

NetworkManager starts normally at boot time but executing nm-applet as a normal user gives this error. I thought of it as a policykit issue but I've seen nothing that could lead to this error in /usr/share/polkit/actions/org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.policy It looks like It could be a DBus issue maybe... |
