Apache 2.4?

I installed Apache 2.4 on a new CentOS 6.6 build, from a 3rd party repository (CentOS's 6.x repositories don't have Apache 2.6)

(this was installed using repo http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/...l-httpd24.repo)

Apache got installed to a completely different directory structure than the "default" location. It installed to:

/opt/rh/httpd24/root/var/www

My question is.. for ease of installing Apache modules, and for when I install a control panel (Plesk), should I be creating any sym links somewhere to make the default locations point to the new location?

I installed an Apache module for example and it got installed to places like /etc/httpd/conf.d/ so it's not working.

What is common practice for those running Apache 2.4? Do you manually move things to the new /opt/rh/httpd24/... directories? Set up sym links? Or how do you handle this?

Thanks

DistrosDefaultLayout - Httpd Wiki may help determine the answer to that question.

Great cheat-sheet thank you.
