You've only stated that Shockwave doesn't work. We need errors or something more to go on. It could be a number of things that is causing it to not work. You provided nothing useful to determine the problem.

You would need to get (download) the shockwave installer file for windows.
Then you open a console window (Terminal or so...) and type:
Code:

wine /path/to/shockwave-installer.exe
(replace "shockwave-installer.exe" with the actual path and name to the file you downloaded)
or change to that directory first and then just use the filename.

How did you try to do (install) it?

...and - no - we can't give any real help if we don't know what you did and how you did it.
It's not that we don't want to or want to make it harder on you - most of us don't have the "sight"...

If you already deleted ~/.wine you will need to run "winecfg" before you try to install any windows software using wine.

wine and shockwhatsit

Dear Saturnrose,
do not know anything about shockwave but wine works fine within itś limitations if installed and used correctly. Few high street shops will refuse work even if they dont know what they are doing.
If you have wine version 1 proper use should be fairly easy.
On the command line (terminal,Konsole) type winecfg and if a Windows like dialogue box appears it is then installed and it should then appear in your applications gui. Then you need to install shockware using wine an easy way to do that is by re-downloading shockware via internet explorer which should be apparent in wine. This is only a summary and is dependent on which version of wine you have. Let me know what happens.Better to abandon shockware than linux!

Fred.
