Dead Swap on 2. HDD --> No access to old Partition / Installation

Hi there,

Overview
----------
1. HDD ( hda ): first Windows, now my actual RedHat9 system
2. HDD ( hde1): very very old installation, unimportant!
( hde2 ): my old system, I'm now searching for;
the swap-partition is deleted

Well:
I've had RedHat9 installed on my 2. HDD. Everything was good, but I was trying so many programs and anything and wasn't able to delete them all again, so it was easier to make a new installation.
I did how I thought and made a new installation but on my 1. HDD, becuase it is much bigger and I don't need Windows anymore.
But it seems, that somehow that installation deleted the swap-partition of my 2. HDD and now I can't get access to my old data.

I tried it with Knoppix, a "bootable Linux-on-CD"-system and I got access to hde1, but I had to find out that this is a very very old system I didn't use for months. It's absolutely unimportant, because it was NOT the system I'm searching for.
So, Knoppix got access to hde but only the first partition and I know, my system is on the second!

I also tried it with mount, but I didn't really get along with it. And I only found hda and not hde, not in /mnt and not in /dev.
I don't know...

Can anyone help me? I really don't now what else to try!

Could you post the output of "fdisk -ls /dev/hde"?

Doesn't work
It says fdisk can not be found, but when I try to install it again it says it IS installed..."
Probably theres a wrong link or anything? how can I change that?
