Sound Problem
Hi,
I just switched to Linux Mandrake 9.2. I've tried to play some mp3 files.Totem Media Player seems to be playing the file, but there is no sound coming out.My soundcard is onboard. Can anyone tell me how to configure it? |
If your totem looks like playing the file, then the soundcard might have been configured perfectly. All you have to do is adjusting the volume, you can try aumix, taumix, kmix, alsamixer, or alsamixergui. Just type one of those on the console if you can't find it in the main menu.
Hope this help. |
idud, you forgot the GNOME Volume Control panel applet ;) .
Otherwise, I'm with you all the way; the problem is that the sound is muted, not that there's anything wrong with the soundcard configuration. Otherwise the application would crash or produce an error. |
