Rolling back Ubuntu updates..
 

About an hour ago. I clicked. On the ubnutu auto updater. And now all the headers in azureus. Look like they are in Arabic. I suppose I may have just installed some kinda' viris. Via the updater. But I would like to see if we could roll it back. Before I start trying to guess about how this happened..

Edit: How do I do that? Roll the updates back?

And yes I'm a noob..

I'm glad you got it fixed. But it might help other people if you post what your did, what the problem was, or whatever. That way, it's not just "wasted time." :)

What I did was uninstall Azureus. Then I opened the azureus folder.In my home folder.And deleted everything except the "Documents" folder,the "Torrents" folder,and the "azureus statistics" file.
And if you have shares in your share folder I'd leave that alone too. Reinstalled azureus and everything was just fine. (I'm a total linux noob!LOL)
I think the prob was in the config but I couldn't find the trouble. It really had me going for awhile.. It happened right after an update so I just assumed that was the cause.. I never did figure if that was really the cause or not..

Basically "rolling back" updates is not possible unless you've prepared for it before installing anything. It is possible to "downgrade" packages, but for that you need the old version package, and that's what you usually don't have; reposities only have newest versions of packages, so if no websites host the old packages anymore and you don't happen to have the old packages stored on disk, you're out of luck. However if you have the older version, you can install it (may require you to use a "force" switch) and thus "downgrade" or "roll back". The problem in that is that any dependencies may have to be downgraded too (it depends, but sometimes this can happen) and that causes a lot of trouble..
