Recieving media player video

Is there a linux package that allows a client to receive windows media player streaming video?

Thanks

What do you mean? You mean watch videos on the net where it says MS Media Player required? Is it the issue?

Yes, precisely. I am taking a remote college class that uses media player video, and I am trying to learn how to use linux whenever possible to do what I do with computers.

you need to be more specific... what *KIND* of video do you want to see? there are many different types of video streaming formats. mplayer can read a number of streams like mpg and so forth, not asf tho.
