PXE-E53: No boot filename received
Hello,
I'm trying to load linux on an embedded board currently with no OS so I can only communicate through a serial line. I followed multiple pxe setup tutorials, mainly http://shirwablog.com/?p=26 . When I boot the device and attempt to boot over network I can see the MAC so I added it to my DHCP table on my router and gave it a static IP. I configured dhcp, have all services working, all images and files in proper directories, and have tried multiple hardware setups (isolated the board and pxe server on a switch, etc..). Any thoughts? thanks! Chris |
The simple way is to test a known working pxe bootable computer to try to decide if your setup is working. I suspect you didn't edit your pxeconfig file. Guess it could be a route issue. Just use a cross over cable to the server to try.
I'd also say instead of fooling with all that stuff you can use a knoppix 5.1 cd and start knoppix terminal server or maybe even DSL's terminal server (never used dsl myself) |
