Not sending mail in Evolution??

Hi
I just started using ubuntu karmic on an ibm x60
with comcast. I tried setting up evolution with a
mobile me imap account and can receive mail no problem
but cannot send mail. Any suggestions or remedies?
thanks,

Apple's got instructions on their website for setting up third party email clients for use with MobileME. My Kmail works great with it, as did Evolution before I moved over.

Incoming server: mail.me.com
SSL: On
Incoming server port: 993

Outgoing server: smtp.me.com
SSL: On
Authentication: Password
Outgoing server port: 587

Enter user ID/passwords as needed.

I had a similar problem with Gmail. I simply switched over to Mozilla Thunderbird + Lightning plugin and everything worked perfectly. Thunderbird is free and open source, made by a dedicated company, and is full-featured and well-developed and tested. Highly recommended from a happy user.

So How do I specify incoming and outgoing ports in
Evolution? I have all the other stuff in there properly.
Thanks,

Thanks,

By appending the port number to the server's name with a colon, like this:

smtp.server.com:587
