Have you tried to find a file on the DVD with the find command? It definitively must find it if you are logged in as root and the DVD is mounted somewhere...

I dont have any problem browsing the file, it just doesnt give me the absolute path... it tells me media:/sr0 which doesnt exists.... anyway...

colucix's idea was a good one.
Please try the following, when the DVD is in your drive: Code:
find / -name nameofafileonyourDVD -print Wait until the command finishes (may take some time!) Somewhere (hopefully in /dev/*) you should see the full path to your file, and thereby be able to access it. |
It didnt find the file in question... Under a relevant place I mean...
