Mandriva 10.1 & Atheros 802.11 Driver Install Help Needed

Wow-This is really frustrating! I cannot get this wireless to work with Mandrake. Here is what I have.

Toshiba A75 S211 Laptop
Mandrake Linux 10.1
Atheros AR5213 802.11 A/B/G

I am deadlocked and have no idea what to do. I've already tried a few things, but only got error messages - which I wasn't supposed to get according to some other thread responses I read. Anyone have a similar problem and any info would be great.

First, you double-posted (at least) which is not only rude and selfish, but in violation of the LQ Rules that you agreed to when you signed up.

Second, Mandrivia doesn't follow the Linux File System Standard, so you're better off posting in the Mandrivia forum where other users can give you help with that distro.

Third, if you'll navigate to the [MadWiki] there is a specific post about setting it up under Mandrivia. Apparently your distro doesn't ship with kernel-headers, gcc, or sharutils; so you'll have to start by installing them. (Sounds like Mandrivia doesn't want you to install or compile anything.)

If you follow that and still can't install it, post back. But put exactly what you did, and the subsequent error message. You didn't really put enough information in either of these threads for someone to help you. Another good read for you would be How To Ask a Question

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.

Closed per the above - do NO multi-post.
