How do i put my new configured Ubuntu to disk?

I have just installed the latest kernel and installed it. I now want to burn it to disk. I am using VMware to run ubuntu at the minute

If I understand your question correctly, you want to image your virtual machine? You can turn off the VM and burn the VM files (including the disk image and the .vmx files and all...). However you might find that the data is too big to fit on DVD. I don't remember where VMware puts the VMs by default but I think it's somewhere under the /var directory.

I hope it helps.
