Help?!

Yes im very new to Linux but am moving right along feels good to be free and away from winblows. But to finish my video card settings i need to log in as root to my desktop to configure my /ect/X11/xorg.conf file and or do I need to do so ? or is that the reason my ATI ccc does not load? the drivers in xorg.conf did change to fglrx and would like more info if possible.

using Debian gnu/Linux 4.0 distro and have successfully loaded ati drivers. But ill keep looking for answers online (gets tiring after 3 days of figuring out how to install drivers in a command line. or am i missing something altogether?

ATI ccc? whats ccc?

Anyways, there is little reason to manually edit that file, when installing the drivers, you should have ran the setup program, and that would have produced a configuration file. So unless you have a reason to edit it, don't bother, especially if you don't know what your doing with it.

Anyways, whats the problem? Its not very clear from your title (which should say something about the problem btw, not ask for help), or from your post.
