Thanks Dj.
I like flux the way it is. I just want to know how it is done.(eyecandy.) Does that make sense? I have been using flux because I using a old p2 gateway someone was trashing, and it seems to be faster than some other wm's. Plus I like the minimalist setup. Now I started using it on all my boxes. (it just feels right.) Regards, Blair |
That screenshot is gdesklets, torsmo, pypanel, and aterm running on Openbox3 which is alot like fluxbox but you have to do a little more work but is fast and rock solid.I came from fluxbox and still use it.I have spent some time getting it to look good so I can help you out.Start out with idesk and getidesk-extras Just read the doc's and if you have any ? just ask away.Another nice one is torsmo You may be able to find some package's for slackware, just use google,I don't use slackware but once you get them installed I can help with the configuration.Next we will work on gdesklets, good luck and have fun

Yeah, I've heard a lot of people having trouble with gDesklets, I got it compiled and working first go on Gentoo but I'm having a few probs in arch :( This it's python related...
It's pretty easy to get your desktop looking very slick and WMs like fluxbox and blackbox are good choices to play with because they're very customisable :) |
Gdesklets is working good in gentoo,on debian I can't get starterbar to work, and I can't get pypanel to work, pypanel can't find imlib2.Gentoo install's all the libs to /usr/lib but debian installs them in a couple of places /usr/lib and /usr/local/lib and then there are symlinks all over the place.Gentoo seems more organized to me.

I will check out idesk ASAP, but today I feel  (sick)
