hey acid_kewpie.
i was looking at your perl scripts, and that place
where you have acidrip mail you when they
start ripping the program, why don't you just have
the program email you the .ifo file? just kidding
of course. Russel Crowe knitted that joke.

well from the low ffedback i've been having so far, i thought about auto mailing "hello" back to me, but i think that would count as spy-ware....

Well I used the setting last night and it worked great. The picture quality was awesome but now I seem to have another problem. The picture seems jerky on large pans or high motion. Is there a setting I can use to fix this? Any help would be awesome. I also found a good bit rate to get closer to 2.1 gig instead of putting in 2100 in the filesize box I put 2570.

like i asid, this is nothing to do with my program, read the mplayer docs. and specific questions liek this are much more suited to the mplayer-users email list, http://mplayerhq.hu . One reason your file size is lower is that by default i use abr and not cbr, so the mp3 bitrate is noramlly lower than the actual specified bitrate. chaneg it to mbr to ensure a constant bit rate.

Ok ill do some research and see what I can come up with, I will report my fix here later for others who run into this problem. Just one question though, is there a way to extract the commands that your program is entering for mencoder so I can see what is going at the CLI level. ( sorta like Ctrl T in DVDRIP ) That would greatly help my investigation. Also If you want to get more feedback on your program why don’t you start posting over at forum.Doom9.org, they now have a Linux section. Thanks for all your help It is greatly appreciated.

all commands are shown in the log file and output window, dropper down by clicking the button by the side of the status bar. and of course you can always get it from the output from ps.

Hey acid, is there a way to have a "pop-up" when it first gets installed saying, "Click OK to send me an email simply saying "hi" so I can get an idea of how many people use this. Otherwise click cancel if you don't want to send one"? Or something along those lines?

You get any ifo's yet? I will be happy to beam you over a few if you are still interested. I only have about 3 or 4 DVD left that I haven't lent out lately though.

Cool

acid_kewpie 12-20-2002 06:26 PM

well there's always a way, but I'd probably do it badly anyway.... my style really!

i've still only got the one ntsc dvd, so i would appreciate a couple. I've no real reason to assume they would cause me any trouble, but it's nice having a decent selection to test against.
