Point to point protocol

Hi,

When I run the command ifconfig in my system, it also shows as below:

ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
inet addr:192.168.234.235 P-t-P:192.168.234.236
Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:1502419 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:1502421 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:3
RX bytes:103165485 (98.3 MiB) TX bytes:60096818 (57.3 MiB)

I tried to find where this IP is mentioned in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts, but of no use. I couldn't locate where this IP is being used.

Also the server is connected only by a single ethernet cable... I am wondering where this IP could have been defined..

Nopes, it doesn't help. I have tried searching that IP in /etc/ppp/* ,/etc/sysconfig/network-script/*,/etc/rc.local,/etc/rc too

nowhere is that IP mentioned..
