I realise that this thread is very old but it came up in my search for a way to disable the unknown traffic on my home network, I found out it was mcast traffic and as I didn't use it I searched my router firmware for options and found in the "expert user" section an option for "mld snooping" which was checked, I unchecked it and rebooted the router and no more random mcast traffic.
Just posting here in case others might find it useful when searching for answers.
