how do compute etx in opportunistic routing or anypath routing?

ETX = Expected transmission count

That's a projection based off of current metrics, i.e. how many completed packets (how many needed to complete the transmitted frames) versus how many sent (transmitted including syncs, acks and re-transmits). So to move 5gb with a 20 loss rate means you'll have to push 6gb of packets (give or take) down the pipe to move your data, so 6gb is your ETX.
Of course, some database could start backing up through the same pipe and your ETX becomes BS, but this is homework so that hardly matters.
