eth0 is inactive


i have a issue in networking, i can ping the yum server but when do ifconfig, it doesnt shows eth0. Then I do service network status, then it is as follows

configured device
eth0

active devices
vibr0

when ever i do service network restart
eth0 doesnr come up

Are you sure it is called eth0? You did not even mention what distro, version. You need to provide helpful information if you want other people to be able to help you.

How do you do this network status.

Also as above, some distro and version level to start.
