Welcome to LQ.
What device has your public IP address? |
my router has the public ip address, its running a "virtual server" which seems to be basically port forwarding to the server.

The chances are your router doesn't support natting back to the lan from the lan. You can sometimes get around this with a DMZ feature if your router supports it. If not you just need to use the local IP address inside the network.

ok, thanks david
i think ill just use the local ip as im not to keen on having the computer exposed on a DMZ |
