apache2 local network problem

hey, i have just installed suse 9.1 and apache2 on one of my computers, i have enabled virtual server on my router, which points to my suse box.

my friends can see my webserver using http : // my.ip.add.ress (had to break that up cause it thought it was a url ) however i cannot

i can see it using local ip address just not the WAN ip

my hosts.allow is httpd : PARANOID
hosts.deny ALL : ALL

am i missing anything?

thanks

my router has the public ip address, its running a "virtual server" which seems to be basically port forwarding to the server.

The chances are your router doesn't support natting back to the lan from the lan. You can sometimes get around this with a DMZ feature if your router supports it. If not you just need to use the local IP address inside the network.

ok, thanks david

i think ill just use the local ip as im not to keen on having the computer exposed on a DMZ
