Adding Network attached storage as a download path

Hi,
I have got a Arch Linux laptop running KDE. I have recently purchased a Dlink DNS 323 network attached storage and have installed Debian Lenny on it. I have been connecting to it via ssh and have created a network folder on Dolphin for easy GUI access ( using ssh protocol). However I cannot seem to figure out how to download stuff directly to the network drives. In firefox, it does not allow me to browse to the Dlink when I try to specify the download path.
Any advice, please

Firefox does not directly support ssh protocols out of the box and I assume a regular FTP server is not running. I do not use Dolphin but it and some other file browsers like Konqueror have SSH protocols built in which allows you to access remote files as if they were on your local computer. Uploading/downloading files is just a matter of drag and drop. You might need to explain in better detail what you are trying to accomplish.

No actual experience trying to set ssh to work with Firefox.

Maybe you should take a look at sshfs

Thanks for that. I just set up sshfs and it seems OK. But would I need to mount and umount the remote drive each time I get back to the house. WHat happens if I leave the network drive mounted and leave the house? Is there any chance of data corruption? If yes, would there be any way of automating the process of mounting the drive when I am back home and unmounting it when I leave?

Basically what I want to do is set up big files to download while I leave the house. That means I need to point the downloads to the network drive. If I mount the drive, that means my laptop cannot leave the network.
