Using mint 16 xfce and libre office. Spell check doesn't work, no red line under wrong words ? In uk but printer defaults to us legal not a4 also.
maybe a localisation prob?
Can you check spelling from the menu (Tools-->Spelling and Grammar)? If yes, it could be that the autocorrect option for checking spelling as you type is turned off.
By the way, Mint 16 reached end-of-life last month. Mint 17 will be supported until 2019.
Thanks frankbell, but had already tried that, even nonsense words don't get picked up by spell check either as typing or with forced check. Have installed UK dictionary and USA still shows in list but no spell check.
Have mint 17 downloaded but no time to install yet.
Frankbell, thanks for that, I'll try it when I get a chance and report back.
Not at comp for now, using phone. Not had this prob persist before, also use deb testing, mint 15 and usually 1/2 dozen other distros on test. Keep coming back to Mint though.
All on xfce but am perpetual dist hopper.
Have just managed to install mint 17 xfce and have same prob. Tried following above link but didn't fit with menu opts. Going through options/language settings some say English USA others say English UK ???
Abiword spellchecks fine so no idea why LO cant???
