Looks really good. The specs are extraordinary indeed in the sense that it is light, small, relatively simple processor, but still an impressive resolution. Does it come with HDD and memory? It seems that only options are mentioned, but it is not sold as barebone. If I am not mistaken it also has a iBook style magnetic power connector. Can you keep us informed how well installation goes.
I think on a 14" screen the desktop characters are a trifle small. Either you have to tweak the DPI in X or set all character sizes different. I wonder if it is easy to get a balanced character size everywhere if you decide to do so.
I've actually got super vision up close (makes a bats vision look awesome from beyond arms length), so I LOVE 1080p at 14". One of my laptops I had several years ago had that, I thought it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
That isn't the EXACT same auction as mine, but it's the same pc. Mine comes with a 320 GB drive and 2 GB ram. I'll upgrade to 4 GB. Only can go to 4 GB because it's single channel. So a single slot, 4 GB per slot max.
Got the system in and installing Debian on it as I type. The screen is GORGEOUS. Very lightweight, although maybe not the absolutely best build quality in some areas (many of the rubber feet have glue sticking out around the base showing that they weren't very carefully installed). UEFI ONLY. However, downloaded the testing UEFI installer build of Debian and as long as I manually partitioned it works fine (for some reason auto partitioning didn't see the EFI partition). Much faster (in Windows 8.1) than I was expecting. It's actually got an N2840 (2.16 GHz dual core) not the N2807 that was advertised. While not a huge difference, I'm quite happy for a tiny bit of a speed boost. Did swap out the 2 GB ram for a 4 GB ram. 320 GB drive. Has 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 USB 3.0 port. HDMI out. Has a flip down network jack. So far that I've tested it (which is very little honestly), I'm EXTREMELY impressed considering what I paid and what I was looking for. $300 for a 1920x1080 14" laptop that seems to work quite well is great with me.
