Welcome to LQ!
I would start a new thread about your problem, it will help you get more answers. |
Did you try to create such a file?
|
sound is working
i didnt created that file
but i created modprobe.conf in /etc/modprobe.d and wrote one line "options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m6 " and restart now its working |
Are you using alsa..? If so why not try alsaconf in the terminal.
|
Works well for Dell Studio 15 (Fedora 11)
Thanks prasad.nitc
Your solution of creating the /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf and adding the line "options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m6" into it helped solved the sound problem in Dell Studio 15 laptop, running Fedora 11. With linux kernal 2.6.30 I also had to change the Device for output to "Internal Audio" in the Sound Preferences window in Fedore 11 (Gnome) I am posting the details here, to help if someone else exits with the same problem. Thanking you, indiajoe |
installing alsamixer
i am using BT4 and my sound driver is listed when i tried "lspci" command...but still i couldn't hear any sound ..
I've also tried alsamixer but nthing happened...and now somehow alsamixer is uninstalled....how can i reinstall alsamixer.. I've searched on ubuntu forums..there according to a forum..i've downloaded four packages of alsamixer and tried to install it but nothing happened...alsamixer till saying that command not found... |
