Your hard drive's security state is set to frozen!!


How do I go about changing this, please?? Thanks!!

A good first step is providing some actual, useful details.

Things like version/distro of Linux, what kind of controller, what kind of hardware, hard drive, where you're seeing that error, WHEN you're seeing that error, if it's a new installation or existing, any updates lately, etc.

All you've posted is a generic error message.

This is an SSD? You need a recent version of hdparm to mess with the secure erase stuff. Read the man page several times because it is very confusing.

Thanks, Smallpond! hdparm sounds just like what I need to get into to combat the hacker constantly messing with my computer!!
