Problem getting Epson 825 to work
I'm using gentoo Linux with the 2.4 kernel, and I'm having trouble getting my Epson Stylus Photo 825 to work properly. Whenever my system boots up, I see messages like this:
usb.c - USB hub detected usb.c - Mass storage device detected usb.c - unknown device, unclaimed by driver Now, I remember from using Windows that the system seems to treat the printer as a hub with a mass storage device (for the pcmcia flash card reader) and a printer attached. Windows had no trouble detecting and configuring both, but Linux only seems to be able to detect one. I tried following the gentoo printer installation and it says that I have to recompile the kernel with printer modules. I used the kernel module selector to add in printers as a module, rebooted, and tried to go modprobe printer, but the system says it can't find printers.o What should I do? |
