Mouse tester software.

Hi: I have a mouse with a PS/2 connector. As it is not recognized by the system, in either linux or windows, I would like to know if the mouse if alive (if it sends any signal to the female connector). Is there a way to know if a signal is arriving at the PS/2 female connector in the machine when I move the mouse?

I would rather try another pc. is this an optical mouse?

Yes it is. The mouse worked until a few days ago. But I do not remember what was the last machine/OS where it worked.
