K8u-x + Dvb-t = Pain:(
Hi,
I was wondering if someone could shed some light on issue I'm having before I take a screwdriver to my mobo. I'm hoping to build a mythtv box but the dvb cards wont tune to anything. I have tried them in a old socket A board and they scan and tune. using scan /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t/ etc on the K8U-X I get "WARNING: filter timeout pid <some id>" several times lspci -vv 02:08.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 05) Subsystem: LeadTek Research Inc. i had a weird problem like this
in the end i was too lazy to figure out how to use TV Cards in Myth. try Kaffeine (the KDE Video Player) it allows playback, timeshifting and scheduled DVB recording. At least then you'll know the cards work or not. to use DVB-t with Kaffeine you need to install a52s, ffmpeg and Kaffeine 0.8+ |
Cheers for the reply
I pretty sure it's not the card(s) I shoved one into an old asus A7V600 via chipset MoBo and it worked using the dvb-utils scan command. I'm investigating to see if its a DMA issue? the thing that concerns me is the errors below [ 24.574683] ali1535_smbus 0000:00:03.1: ALI1535_smb region uninitialized - upgrade BIOS? After much poking around it looks like its a IRQ issue. The bizarre thing is its usually the second of the cards that will tune.
I.E. 16: IO-APIC-fasteoi libata, cx88[1], cx88[1] 21: IO-APIC-fasteoi eth0, cx88[0], cx88[0] Its cx88[1] that will tune but not cx88[0] Is there anyway to set the IRQ's manually? Thanks |
