How to mount Atmel USB kit ?
I got ATMEL AT89S52 USB kit .
after lsusb I got Bus 001 Device 012: ID 0403:fa38 Future Technology Devices.......... Which /dev/... mount to ,for communication ? |
Try "fdisk -l"
or "dmesg | tail" or "mount" should be "mount /dev/sdxx /mnt/sdxx" "xx" equals your usb name (sdf1/sde1/sdb1, etc) |
i tried every possible sd*
avrp -s /dev/sda even avrp -s /dev/ttyS0 Error: Not a valid programmer type reported Possibly no programmer connected |
what distro are you using?
use gparted to see device open gparted click "gparted" button at top left select devices/your device it will graphically show you the usb |
i got debian lenny on eee pc
but still doesnt matter if it is plug or out mount fdisk -l gparted still same outcom but after lsusb I got Bus 001 Device 012: ID 0403:fa38 Future Technology Devices.......... after dmesg | tail [512009.312088] usb 1-2: USB disconnect, address 17 [512016.440325] usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 18 [512016.630155] usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [512016.639470] usb 1-2: New USB device found, idVendor=0403, idProduct=fa38 [512016.639483] usb 1-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [512016.639489] usb 1-2: Product: USB51KIT [512016.639493] usb 1-2: Manufacturer: EFS & Co. yes lenny-gnome
maybe I need better bootloader for mine kit |
I use Kingston USB's 2GB and 4GB they work great
|
i mean monitor loader for programing ,like avpr
|
I believe the device is a USB serial port and is not mountable. The device ID should be /dev/ttyUSB0.
Try avrp -s /dev/ttyUSB0 For the curious the ATMEL AT89S52 is an 8 Bit microprocessor derivative of the Intel 8051. The 8051 was developed in 1980 and I have used them in many projects over the years. avrp is the programmer application. If the above command does not work then there could be other reasons why you are having problems. Does /dev/ttyUSB0 exist. If not post the output of the lsmod command. Not sure what FTDI chipset this device uses but most modules should hopefully be included. |

Can you post a website that provides information on the USB kit?
As a quick test try the following command: modprobe ftdi_sio (must be root) Post the errors and see if the device is not being recognized and you have a /dev/ttyUSB0 being created. For more information. http://ftdi-usb-sio.sourceforge.net/ All of this is an educated guess based on the information provided. |
After modprobe ftdi_sio I get only folder /dev/fd and /proc
ls /dev/fd 0 1 2 3 lsmod Module Size Used by ftdi_sio 44200 0 usbserial 26472 1 ftdi_sio |
there is TL061 coverter with TTL level on RS-232 binary data signal
|
And no /dev/ttyUSB0 was created?
