Dial Up modem issue in Slackware 10.
I'm (at the moment) using a US Robotics Performance Pro modem ... which on the box says it supports linux. I'm running slackware 10 with a 2.4 kernel. I've tried several different dialup numbers...yet no matter what I try, it always connects at 9600 bps. Very slow... Yet on windows, I get about 53.2kbps always. I've used this modem on other distros in the past without a problem...and it actually usually ran faster in linux than windows.
I'm using Kppp to connect...what could be the problem? Help very much apreciated. Thanks. -RoaCh |

Have you tried to tweak the AT commands? so to be in V90 or V92 mode
(change the init strings) there are sites for these see http://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...threadid=302625 I have a relatively similar problem, unsolved to date |
