A graphics card for a 4k screen?

Would someone like to recommend a graphics card for a 4k monitor that will get along well with Linux?

After exhaustive googling, I've narrowed it down to the R7 250X and the R7 260X. But I may easily have missed better options.

I've found better options myself, but the ones I found were too expensive.

I am going to need a Display Port, because I don't want to run it at 30Hz. I want 60Hz.

Other ports would be a nice plus, since I still have my old monitors: one has an RGB port and the other has RGB and DVI (I regard RGB and DVI as pretty much the same thanks to adaptors). One monitor is fine for everyday use, but I've been messing around a lot with DAWs lately and you can never have too much screen real estate for plugins and secondary programs. ;-)

I tried to search the forum, but "4k" is deemed too small and ignored by the search bot.

You must calculate the necessary RAM size for that resolution.

Most budget cards have 2Gb. Should be enough.

250x probably the best value that's going to be able to do it, but for around the same price of the 260x I'd consider the 360. While the 260x is slightly more powerful, the 360 is more powerful than the 250x, and uses less power than the 250x or 260x.

Then check the technical data of the graphics card, if this resolution is supported.
