System hanging at "Real Time Clock Driver"
Hello everyone!
I decided to get once again install Linux on my workstation, but discovered some very nasty errors :/ When booting from the installation disc, the system hangs when loading the "Real Time Clock Driver" - but only when I have my USB mouse plugged in. I've tried both Slackware 9.0 and 9.1, as well as Red Hat 9 - same problem in all of them. I installed Slackware 9.1 successfully (without the mouse plugged in), to check if this were an installation problem only, but the same thing happened when i booted up after installing (with mouse plugged in). Has anyone encountered a problem like this? My mainboard is an ASUS A7V-E, with a Athlon Classic CPU and a GeForce 3 AGP card. Regards, Kim Christensen a.k.a raccoon |
maybe try getting rid of your realtime clock module, assuming it's not
built in to that kernel. |
Ok, that will probably do it when the distro is already installed -
but how do I bypass it during the installation boot process? |
HELP!!!!
I have the same problem. Hardware is CUV4X-D running 2.4.20-31 kernel smp. It hangs at the Real Time Clock Driver 1.10e!!!! Does anyone else know how to solve it?
