System hanging at "Real Time Clock Driver"

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hello everyone!

I decided to get once again install Linux on my workstation,
but discovered some very nasty errors :/

When booting from the installation disc, the system hangs when
loading the "Real Time Clock Driver" - but only when I have my
USB mouse plugged in.

I've tried both Slackware 9.0 and 9.1, as well as Red Hat 9 - same
problem in all of them. I installed Slackware 9.1 successfully
(without the mouse plugged in), to check if this were an installation
problem only, but the same thing happened when i booted up after
installing (with mouse plugged in).

Has anyone encountered a problem like this? My mainboard is an
ASUS A7V-E, with a Athlon Classic CPU and a GeForce 3 AGP card.

maybe try getting rid of your realtime clock module, assuming it's not
built in to that kernel.

Ok, that will probably do it when the distro is already installed -
but how do I bypass it during the installation boot process?
