I'm running Slackware64-current (now at 14.2 beta 2) on a raid1 array and one of my disks seems to have gone south. When I boot I get a kernel panic and it says: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown block(9,0). Figuring that a disk was to blame I booted Knoppix-7.6.1 mounted the drive /dev/sda1 and ran e2fsck. It found many problems and apparently fixed them - at least it says all is fine when I run it again. Also ran it on /dev/sdb1 (other part. of md0) and it is OK. Then I figure it is a possible problem with lilo on mbr after the fsck repairs. I found this link,
http://blog.tpa.me.uk/2009/09/29/re-...kware-boot-cd/ and tried to run it after booting from the Slack64-14.1 DVD. Following the steps I have to mount /dev/md0 on /foo as sda1 is part of the array. It works fine down to the part where I run lilo and then lilo quits saying that it can't follow all of the links to /boot.
Any ideas on how to get lilo to run or reinstall lilo on the system??? Thanks in advance.
