changing framebuffer image?
is there a simple way to change it, or does it require recompiling the kernel?
|
Hi,
The image is from a kernel file (/usr/src/linux/include/linux/linux_logo.h) so it's compiled in the kernel... so if you want to change it you'll have to recompile your kernel :p for more info: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Framebuffer-HOWTO-19.html Oliv' |
alternatively, if you want to go totally nuts about your framebuffer... http://www.bootsplash.org/

WICKED!!!!! cheers mate!! i'm definitely gonna give that a go.
but that means changing to a 2.6.* kernel. will have to find out a bit more about 2.6 and laptops first tho' thanks again! |
bootsplash works fine on a 2.4.x kernel too...
