i know that google has a ton of information,
but it thought i would ask you for any texts regarding the subject that you find most helpful

to be honest... if you would tell what it is that you want to do maybe someone can help a little better. Your post is very vague.

bind is a utility to actually "bind" a protocol (almost always these days, TCP/IP) a certain eth interface. DNS, of course, is a service that in a way "binds" an actual alpha-numeric name to a logical ip address.

some docs i have used in the past to configure bind was at
http://linux902.tripod.com/bindconf.html although i am sure this info is in a ton of different locations.
