to be honest... if you would tell what it is that you want to do maybe someone can help a little better. Your post is very vague.
bind is a utility to actually "bind" a protocol (almost always these days, TCP/IP) a certain eth interface. DNS, of course, is a service that in a way "binds" an actual alpha-numeric name to a logical ip address.
