The game I would love to have ported would be the best war game of all time, CALL OF DUTY!!! I have beaten the game many times in windows before dumping it :D

The games that I would like to see ported are Trainz 2006, Starcraft and Starfleet Command III.

From what I understand, the company that developed starfleet command III has gone bust due to legal problems with paramount, so the game is no longer supported, so if whoever holds the source code for that would consider releasing it open source (i doubt it coz i think its paramount studios) then Im sure that game would port well and be a hit for any star trek buffs out there.

I have a windows installation on a secondary Hard Drive purely for games. It has all the latest drivers, service packs and patches and only has 2 games installed. It has been installed for 1 week and has already blue screen 6 times. (and it's even a legit copy!!)

I used to use windows as my primary OS for years, and i would re-install it on an average of every 3 months because it just kept breaking or had becvome so slow that it was painful.

I have had my linux installation now on the same hardware for well over 3 months now and the OS has not crashed once. THIS IS THE REASON I WOULD LOVE TO SEE GAMES PORTED TO LINUX. At least the OS is fast and stable - sure its a bit more complicated than Windows - but hey, I dont need virus scanners or disk defragmenters or other apps like that and when you do get it working (which now days doesnt take that long), it just keeps on working!

(there - I have had my little rant - I have spent days trying to get my Windows games to run on windows without it crashing so I am just a bit ticked off)

anyway - if any of the companies that develeop these games are paying attention or even care, people are pretty sick and tired of 3rd rate OS's such as Windows and the inherent problems that they have and are making the move to the more stable alternatives such as Mac and Linux. Perhaps they should start to pay attention to the fact that people really are moving towards these OS's, and there is a market there for games.

I use Gentoo Linux which is fantastic - very fast and stable - but its not for the feint hearted. Took me ages to figure it out and get ot installed and running properly. However, with easy to install and use distros out there like Ubuntu (and there are many others so please dont crucify me for not mentioning your favourite distro guys), and the fact that its free, and people like me :D are encouraging friends, family and even clients to move to linux if they can, you will find that this market for Linux games is going to grow bigger and faster than ever before. Think about it...

I'll get off my soap box now ;)

ALL THE GAMES! I am fustrated with monopolies, and microsoft has it in popular gaming. It makes me sad how we can never fully separate ourselves from Window$..

I went to Radio Shack today, and, out of curiousity, asked the clerk how much Microsoft Office was going for nowaday's. He said 100 bucks, and I laughed really really hard.

Pro Evolution Soccer 5. Pretty much the only game I play, and I need to reboot to W****** to play it - very annoying.
