glGetError for Steam games

Hello all-

I've been all over trying to find a workaround for the glGetError on Steam. I'm trying to get Portal to run on my netbook (Toshiba NB505-N500BL) but because it's running the Intel GMA3150 on an atom chipset, I cannot get anything to work in steam as it is requiring me to have OpenGL 2.0 support or something.

I know my specs are pretty subpar, but I KNOW this system is capable of running portal (or at LEAST Hotline Miami, which doesn't give the error but just crashes instantly upon startup)

I'm running Mint 14, 32 bit btw

Anybody have any tips? Thanks in advance

Update

Here's a quick update on my progress:

Using the DRIconf trick, I flipped the "Enable Limited ARB_fragment_shader support on 915/945" switch on, and nothing changed. I played around with a few options, and upon switching the "Enable stub ARB_occlusion_query support on 915/945" on I have changed the error from "glGetError" to "glColorMaskIndexedEXT"

It still says my graphics card/driver is outdated, even though I know it's just a software problem. Neither Hotline Miami or Portal work still.

Boy it'd be nice to get the same functionality out of this hardware as one does on windows. A man can only dream, I suppose.

I don't know if you are still having this problem but I believe I solved it in the following post.
