The only visible API change in execline 2.0 will be that the obsolete -E option to some substitution commands isn't supported anymore. The language will not change.
All of the heavy work is purely internal - for instance, I'm adding posix_spawn() support on systems that provide it, to be more noMMU-friendly. You shouldn't notice it on the user side.

Ok, thanks for the heads up. The loss of the -E option will not be felt; I have stayed away from using it based on the what I thought was an emphasis in your docs about using the -e option instead.
My first full build of my musl based lfs system completed building last night, so I will be working harder to finish the scripts.
