how to make LFS 7.5 LiveCD


after working for 22 hours i finally managed to complete the whole LFS 7.5 book.. now how do i make it into a LiveCD... oh and one more thing.. when i log into LFS by root i get -bash-4.2# shouldn't i be getting something like root@lfs#... thanks...

I don't think you can. The live media is not maintained any longer for various reasons.

The instructions are still there to make it, but they haven't been properly updated for newer rebuilds.

Did you need to have one to rebuild LFS on another system?

well no... i just want to make a LiveCD to give a working of my LFS to a friend... and could you please send me a link to the live media... thanks..

There currently isn't an up to date version.

If you want to, you can drop the entire file system into a Gentoo-like stage3 tarball, then create the file systems, unpack the tarball, build the kernel, and set up the boot loader from a USB thumb drive. I have a post here on using tar to backup a system.

Please use the Search function of the forums. Posts can be pushed down, but with some searching you can track down posts.

Exit chroot and dismount the virtual file systems only.

Code:
cd $LFS
tar cpjfv $LFS/lfs-systemcore-<date>.tar.bz2 *
It'll take a few minutes to archive everything so be prepared. Just replace <date> with today's date like 08012014
