Failed to use media build drivers on 3.14.79 kernel

Hi there,

I'm using a PCTV 520e dvb-c device with linux. I verified that it works on x86/64 with ubuntu 16.04, kernel 4.x. I also got it running on a raspi with ubuntu server, kernel 4.4. Now, I'm trying to use it with a ODROID C2. However, the available ubuntu for C2 has kernel 3.14.x and the device doesn't work well. Hence, I tried to use the media build driver like here. But if I compile and install the drivers, I do not get a /dev/dvb/... folder.

Any idea, where to start searching, why it fails? I tried to find any logfile entry like "error: /dev/dvb not created, failed to load <whatever>". But no luck.

Any help is appreciated
