SuSE 9.1 Professional download!

I want to try SuSE 9.1 Professional and I don't know where I can get it. Do you know a link?
I don't need SuSE 9.1 Personal it is a difference. This one is a single iso (cd) and you can dowload it and then through update you get to 9.1 Professional. I want the 5 iso's/cd's for the Professional version. Can you help me? A link, ftp or privet home page...?

u can try
LinuxIso.org in the SuSe linux section there are loadz of sections about this issue there
also the best place to get 9.1 i got it from Shareaza or u can use DC++ or emule

You can't download an iso. SuSE/Novell don't do it that way - you can probably get hold of a boot disk and then you'd have to install via ftp.

elbrens 06-29-2004 05:04 PM

some people on that site i mentioned open FTP server for the 9.1 but legally as the man said u can`t get it for free

@ XavierP
Now you're wrong, so far I know there are 5 cd's for SuSE professional 9.1. Ypu can download the cd for Personal edition and then trough that you will be able to make an update to Professional edition.

@ elbrens

I already tried that site.....nothing........... :(

I'll wait other answers...
Thank's anyway to both of you.

BTW - please do not post the same question 3 times - twice in this forum. And SuSE don't make the iso available for download, if someone else has done so then it is outside of SuSE.

I have reported your posts and they will be dealt with.

If you want the 5 ISO's you will have to buy them, or you can borrow them from someone else who owns them. Suse's policy is to NOT make their ISO's available for download (with a small number of exceptions such as the Live CD's) and therefore any claims from a site offering the "official" Suse Professional ISO's for download should be considered false, and the images to be corrupt.

It is possible to install Suse 9.1 via a network install or to download their installation tree to your local drive and launch the installation from that, both for free, but not the ISO's. -- J.W.

I got a "generic" burn of 9.1 Pro from a vendor at Amazon.com. Maybe click around in there to see what you can find...

You can also order a Technical Ressource Kit from Novell for free which includes a Suse 9.1 Pro DVD.
It took me in Germany about 3 Weeks to get it:

After posting i saw that theres already a Thread to this Free CDs:

How to get Generic CDs

I purchase my distributions from a vendor that I discovered on ebay. He charges between 4 to 6 dollars for 5 CDs depending on what special he is running at the time. I would post his email address. However, this would probably be against the LQ's rules.

To find a cheap vendor go to amazon.com or use google. Use the following keywords for your google search: Suse, professional, & generic. You should expect to spend about $10 including shipping and handling.

I've got news for you all. Suse has now made Suse Linux PERSONAL 9.1 available for download as AN .ISO!!!!

http://www.suse.com/us/private/downl...l_iso_int.html

This is definitely on their website, definitely not fake or corrupted. The only catch is simply no printed documentation or tech support.

download suse 9.1

If you have a broadband connection you can follow the link I'll give you. It has very explicit directions on how to do a network install. I did it and man it worked like a charm. It installed just fast as if I was using the dvd or cd roms.
