Are you using a iso file or a cd disc?
Anyway the error is saying either the file or the cd disc is corrupted/damaged. Get a new copy of them. |
Thank you for reply. I am using ISO file
so where can I find ISO file. Thanks -- Abdul Wahab |
Will VM Ware even support a 12 year old operating system?
|
Yes. It will run MS-DOS...
|
redhat killed off RH9 in 2003 with the release of RHEL2
is there a MUST USE ( as in a gun pointed at you ) NEED to use a 12 year old and UNSUPPORTED operating system -- remember is IS 12 YEARS OUT OF DATE Also RedHat IS NOT FREE!!!! you have to BUY $$$ the required support contract the standard 1 year license is $299 per year os if you NEED redhat buy the current RHEL 7.1 ( at a cost of $299 every year) or install the current FREE!!! rebuild of rehdat CentOS 7.1 and you get the dvd iso's on the Operating system's web site |
I can think of several legitimate reasons for running older operating systems. I use a 20+ year old piece of equipment that only runs on DOS. The company could never get a version to run successfully on W95 (no luck with XP either) at the time and for whatever reason program development stopped.
For whatever reason the OP wants to install RH9 in a VM not a major deal IMHO. If you really need a copy... As suggested CentOS would be a better option if your not trying to support a legacy product. ftp://archive.download.redhat.com/pu...9/en/iso/i386/ |
